Abstract

The present article, the second out of three, is dedicated to analyze the pedagogical approach created by a network of Latin- American educators associated to CREFAL. This approach was called by those educators and by UNESCO fundamental education. The paper focused on analyzing the conception of educational field, called by them and by UNESCO fundamental education. Their thinking of that network had a humanist approach oriented to the promotion of human rights, dignity and education for all. One of the main purposes of those pedagogues was a quest for a new education. An education which were not school and teacher centered but also based on social networks and interdisciplinary teams aimed at promoting human development. A pedagogical approach which were not only childcentered but also centered on youngster and adults. This new education should be developed at local level taking into consideration geographical, social, historical and cultural context. Fundamental education placed special emphasis on communitarian, participative, and intercultural matters.
