Abstract

The question in order to return to the fundamental education –educative paradigm promoted by CREFAL in the 50´s within the framework of the UN and the risk of another world war, is posed and promoted in a recalling institutional context of its pedagogical tradition as an opportunity to return to the original mandate, within the present scenery of uncertainty and danger to the word peace.

The existence of an original school of pedagogical thought is postulated the kind of school that CREFAL had as its main activity in those years. This is the first out of three articles which introduces to the thought of this school showing its general policies of its political critic to the 21st society, its similarities and differences compared to those ones that UNESCO have on fundamental education and its commitments on sustainable local development.

In the following articles we will introduce a humanistic content which will form the agenda of the founders and will be deepened in the theorical and methodological lines of thought that conformed their platform of action in Latin America, with radical orientation to values as peace, freedom, social justice, diversity and the human dignity.
